The air bearing high-speed inspired integrated motor 72h full load towing assessment was a complete success
At 14:00 on March 19, 2020, ENN Power's self-developed 51000rpm/160kW high-speed motor supported by air foil bearings completed 72 hours of continuous full-load operation assessment with gas turbines, which is another major technological breakthrough made by ENN Power after the E100RR micro-combustion unit passed the 72-hour assessment on February 27, 2020, marking that the air bearing technology for 100 kilowatts high-speed motors has met the conditions for demonstration application. Previously, in December 2019, the motor has passed 2,500 low-cycle fatigue tests in conjunction with gas turbines.
Air foil bearing is a kind of dynamic pressure gas bearing with adaptive flexible support, with the advantages of small mass, high reliability, great design freedom, good high temperature characteristics, low maintenance or maintenance-free, no need for other auxiliary devices, etc., its application in micro gas turbine generator sets is its most difficult application environment, representing its highest technical level.
ENN Power adopts overall planning and various breakdown strategies, first breaking through its application in high-power high-speed motors, and then solving its application in gas turbines. After 2,500 start-stop times and 72 hours of full load operation, the air bearings are basically wear-free, proving good reliability and meeting the life requirements of high-speed trigger motors for micro gas turbines. At the same time, this test uses a self-developed ultra-high-speed flexible coupling to connect the micro combustion engine and the high-speed motor, which also proves that it is feasible in the transmission system of the micro-combustion unit through the 72-hour assessment, and has excellent performance and can be put into commercialization.

The successful passage of the two important tests marks that ENN Power has broken through the key technologies of advanced micro gas turbines for high-speed inspired integrated motors, air bearings for high-speed motors, high-speed couplings and integrated control systems, laying a solid research foundation for the subsequent development of more efficient international advanced all-air bearing micro gas turbines.
